1. Eyesight test

After having checked your driving licence you take a quick eyesight check. Your instructor will then explain the course and give you some hints and tips about the clothing that you are best to wear when riding.

2. On-site training

After being introduced to the controls of your motorcycle you will be given the time you need to get used to the weight and feel of the bike. In addition, the instructor will also run through some of the basic maintenance that you are advised to carry out regularly.

3. On-site riding

This is where the fun starts. You will get started learning all of the basic manoeuvres. Your will be guided through pulling away and braking, slow control, changing gear and all the necessary observations.

4. On-road training

Before taking to the road you will be given a full road ride briefing. This will tell you what to expect from your road ride and what the minimum 2-hour session will include. When you are good and ready you will take to the road.

5. On-road riding

The road ride must last at least two hours and will take you on a route which will cover a range of different road types and conditions, all of which you will experience in your day-to-day riding. You will also be asked to complete a U-turn and an emergency stop during this part of the CBT.

GETTING ON - COMPULSORY BASIC TRAINING (CBT) £149

It all starts here - The Compulsory Basic training course includes a mix of classroom, off road and on road tuition. Successfully completed, you will receive your CBT certificate.

Qualification – a valid CBT certificate allows a 16 year old to ride a moped, Up to 50cc. If you are 17 or over you can ride a motorcycle with a power output of 11kw (14.6 bhp) – check out the MSX 125. You must display full size L plates and you cannot carry a passenger or go on the motorway.

GETTING BACK ON - REFRESHER COURSE £250

If you have a motorcycle licence but have not ridden for a while then our 'Get Back On' course is for you. This course is designed to refresh your skills and technique and get your confidence back. You will be amazed at how much you remember and our professional trainers will be able to identify any strengths and weaknesses and work with you to get you prepared for the road. You could be on your way to that NC750, CBR650R, CB500F or any one of our great range of motorcycles and scooters.

Qualification– on the conclusion of your session your professional Honda trainer will present you with your own personal assessment form and Honda School of Motorcycling participation certificate.

GETTING ON - FULL LICENCE COURSE £899

All the training and tests that you need to qualify to ride the bike of your dreams. Bike, clothing and initial test fees are all included it's that easy. No matter which licence you require – this is the course for you.

Qualification – dependant on your age and the bike that you want to ride, successfully completing our full licence course will qualify you for whichever of the following licences is needed:

Category A1 licence - you ride a motorcycle up to 125cc and 14.6 bhp (11kw). Check out the CB125R

Category A2 (which lets you ride any motorcycle up to 47bhp - you'll be surprised at what you can ride – have a look at the CB500X ABS

Category A licence (ride a machine of any size) anything from the CBR500R to the magnificent CBR 1000RR/RA

STEPPING UP - UPGRADE LICENCE COURSE £799*

If you have already got a valid CBT certificate and have been riding regularly for about 3 months then the Honda Stepping up course is for you. You get all the training you need and your course includes your initial Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests. Open up the world of Honda by Stepping Up to a full licence.

Qualification – as per full licence course.

A reduced price of £599 applies to any rider who wishes to upgrade from an A2 to a full A licence as a result of 2 years qualification.

If you fail either your Mod 1 or Mod 2 test your retest will be charged the cost of the test together with one half day for training and attending the test.
