What is Diabetes UK ?

Diabetes UK is the UK’s leading charitable funder of diabetes research. They improve lives through pioneering research into all forms of diabetes and diabetes-related complications. The work they support helps everyone understand the causes of diabetes, bring about life-changing breakthroughs in care, treatment and prevention and bring them closer to a cure. In 2013 they committed to fund 32 new studies worth over £7 million.

There are currently 3.8 million people in the UK with diabetes, including an estimated 630,000 people who have Type 2 diabetes but do not know it.

Why is it Honda of Bournemouth's Official Charity for the year?

Stuart will be attending the Salomon Trial Marathon in Wales on the 20th of June 2015.

Stuart's son, Dexter, has been diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 earlier in 2014. The medication which Dexter needs and receives on a daily basis is given freely. Stuart feels that it is important to raise money for other children in his position, so they can enjoy the same support and care.
