This year’s Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show was a huge success at ExCeL London with the new Honda motorcycles causing quite a storm!
The Honda motorcycle highlights from the show included the new NC700X, Honda Crosstourer and Honda Fireblade.
The Honda NC700X is designed to give much better fuel economy and it does just that with claims it is capable of up to 80mpg. At just £5,350 for this 670cc bike, it won’t suit all riders but is a great choice if you are looking for a cheap run around for everyday use.
The Honda Crosstourer is the new home for Honda’s V4 engine which we first saw in the VFR1200F last year. The style of the bike is somewhat similar to the Crossrunner 800cc but has a more adventurous feel.
The Honda Fireblade is one of the most popular high performance road bikes. If you are talking about pure statistics, the Fireblade falls behind the current rivals; the BMW S1000RR and the Kawasaki ZR-10R, but there is something about this bike which pulls on the heart strings for so many riders. The new 2012 model has been fine-tuned and the suspension has been renewed.
This year, fun at the Morotcycle Show was not just for the adults, but for the children too as 2012 saw the first year that Honda bought their ‘My First Honda Licence’ riding school to the event. This fantastic riding area allowed 5-11 year olds to experience riding a motorcycle for the very first time. Using Honda CRF mini-bikes, Honda allowed the youngsters to get a taste of motorcycle riding on a controlled and specially constructed course. Once the children had completed the course, they were given a mock motorcycle licence to take home with them.
