The Valparaiso jacket is a great choice to make. This adventure looking jacket will obviously keep you dry at all times thanks to its removable Drystar® liner. The removable long sleeves thermal liner will keep you warm, whatever the conditions. It is “sonic quilted” (new for 2014) in order to improve the insulation performance and reduce the material volume. The meshed panels inside of the jacket allow a high ventilation performance. It is therefore a perfect gear for all the season (four-in-one jacket). One of the many improvements for 2014 is the large zippered air intakes on the chest and at the back of the jacket. This is called Jet Ventilation System and it allows a great cooling performance.
You will be able to adjust the jacket thanks to four Velcro® closure tabs on the sleeves and cuffs. You also get a waist adjustment belt. The zips at the cuffs are well designed: a closure tab as well as an open mesh gusset!
Need plenty of storage for all your belongings? You don’t really need to carry a pack bag when you have this Valparaiso jacket. We stopped counting the pockets on it! Note that a large one at the back becomes very handy when you need to store you thermal liner! Another improvement for 2014: two chest front water resistant zips and one waterproof pocket, great for your wallet! The zips are all YKK zippers and there are twin sliders on the main zipper.
Protection wise, you get the usual shoulder and elbows CE Certified protectors. The sleeves are pre-curved for maximum comfort while riding. You will also find chest and back compartments if you wish to upgrade your jacket with chest pads or a back protector. Accordion stretch panels at shoulders and elbows will increase your comfort while riding.
There is plenty of reflective piping for high visibility when necessary. The internal connection zip will allow you to connect the jacket with the matching trousers. The back of the jacket is elongated for more comfort.
